hey guys,
how can corticosteroids cause osteoporosis if they inhibit NFkb?
doesn't RANK - nf-kb activation cause differentiation and activation of osteoclasts, so if osteoclast activity is reduced, how does that lead to osteoporosis?

thankyou

Effects of corticosteroids on bone are multifactorial. Yeah, steroids suppress many genes, including NF-kB, but when we're talking about osteoporosis, an increase in RANK/OPG is never wrong.

Now I'm going to be only partially helpful and be that guy who links you to Wiki (but it's short and decent): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steroid-induced_osteoporosis
