Hey guys! So I was just glancing through the forums and realized something I hadn't even thought of. You need to pay to have your GRE scores sent! How much does that cost?
I'm just trying to get a rough estimate of how much I need to have saved before I can start this dang process. My not-so-short list is 5 schools, so just my VMCAS fee and supplemental fees are around 740 already. I still haven't figured in the cost of transcripts and sending in GRE scores! Yikes.
As soon as I get my first paycheck I'm opening up a savings account specifically for applying to vet school 🙂

the first four schools are free then it's $20/school after that.

If you specify the schools when you are taking the exam.

After the fact its something like $20 for each school. I paid $100 to send my GRE scores to 5 schools after I had taken the exam.

Don't forget traveling to interviews; that can easily be the most expensive part.

So can you take like a little sheet or something with you to the exam with the school codes on them? This seems like an easy way to save $80.

ETA: bunnity, I don't even have a ballpark estimate of what that will work out to be...I'd hope to drive to most of my interviews (kept my schools in the midwest) so hopefully that will cut down the cost somewhat. I hope to have about 2k saved by the time I actually start applying. >_>

You can't take anything in with you, but its not hard to use their system to find the schools without it.

No personal papers or even your own pen or pencil are allowed, everything is provided on site. The computer lets you "search" based on where the school is and from there you get a scroll through option of different colleges. You can get to department if it is necessary too and then select those that you want your scores sent to, and still save that $80🙂

Wow I didn't know it was so strict! Thanks for the info, this cleared a lot up 🙂
