Costanzo Big book?

I'm trying to build foundation so do u guys tink its bad to read this book?

at least the 3 chapters ofhigh yeild, like lung, cardio, and renal

but then the author said u should read endocrine too, but endocrine's low yield, no?

does anybody have this book pdf, i dont think i could afford to buy just for few ch, and i know its out there somewhere

It's NEVER a bad idea to read any of Dr. Costanzo's books. Just buy the book. It's a good reference if you ever need an explanation for anything physiology related. If you don't want to shell out for the big Physio. book, then buy BRS Physio.

i have brs. im asking about ebook in addition

for example. even FA says in back that brs is weak in renal and lung. both high yield...

the big costanzo is a very good physio book, you cant go wrong using it, takes out all the crap in guyton and gives you what is relevant at our level

I don't know what type of timeline your working on here? That would help a lot. You said its for a foundation? If so i would say buy it and read every page of it. A great book. If you already took med school physio then i would say use BRS.

I think the big Costanzo text is good for class but in terms of board review, it's overboard. Though Phys is important, I think BRS will cover it quite well. If you want more than that, I think doing the Cases book is more beneficial than passively reading through the big Costanzo text.

I don't think it's a bad idea to revisit costanzo, it's not that big of a textbook at all. That said I wouldn't spend more than a day or two on it. For my Physio pass, I'm planning on going through just the few chapters I think I don't understand as well, probably just the three you mentioned and skim another or two probably over the course of a day, then do tons and tons of physio questions immediattely after in the next two days to cement all the formulas, techniques in my head. I figure I've gotta give some lip service to physio otherwise I wouldn't give any(its one of my stronger areas and no intention of getting another book like BRS for it).

FA states that the respiratory and acid/base sections are comparatively weak. BRS phys should be good for cardio, renal, and endocrine. Just hop onto Ganoung's Physio or the Big Costanzo book for Resp. and Acid/Base chapters.

Sorry. I was refering to BRS Physio. FA states that the Resp and Acid/Base is comparatively weak in BRS Phys.
