ok I have a couple of months before the steps and didn't really study Physio all that well when I was taking the class--passed everything but didn't really reinforce the concepts---so should I read all of Costanzo's Physio before going to BRS Physio or just skip to the latter? I've looked at BRS and tough it is review book I tend to understand most of it pretty well

We had to read GUYTON for physio this term.

Eventhough I don't remember much from GUYTON, reading BRS makes me feel that i am missing a lot.

Is Costanzo TEXTBOOK good enough to fill GUYTON VOID while taking less time?

I read costanzo and made notes from it into the BRS phys. Then, BRS phys made a nice, quick review 1-2 weeks out. This plus first aid and some extra behavior/stats/psych and a smattering (very little) Goljan made a 251.

Instead of starting a new thread, I am curious if anyone compared Rapid Review Physiology vs. BRS phys. I like BRS phys a lot .. I have an older edition. But I think I like Rapid Review Phys better - it integrates lots of clinical stuff and sometimes even drugs.

Any thoughts?

I'm going to be a little biased and give my vote to BRS Physio. The reason I'm being biased is because Costanzo teaches at my school and she is an incredible professor and just an all around great person. Also, nearly everyone I talk to and nearly all the posts from the Step 1 Experiences threads all seem to use BRS for Physio.

I emailed her once and she sent a nice reply. We use Guyton's phys but when I did use Costanzo phys book just out of curiosity, I realized how she points out things that makes a lot of sense and didn't see it in Guyton.

So, I guess, I might buy a newer version of BRS Phys. Thanks for making me spend yet more dollars on books!! 🙂

If you are going to buy a newer edition of BRS try to compare them. I think it was between the 3rd and 4th editions that she added a bunch of stuff but I honestly can't remember which editions it was. it's been a while since I studied for step 1
