Could I ask for LOR early from dentist?

I'm a sophomore in college and I shadowed a really nice dentist a few weeks ago. Since I'll be applying in 2 years, could I ask for a letter LOR from her this summer and somehow save it until I fill out the application so that she'll be able to remember me better? Also, does the LOR from dentist have to be from a general dentist?

I would wait and maintain a relationship with the dentist for the next couple of years and then ask closer to when you are applying. You could go shadow once every couple of months so that they still remember you or you could also send life updates...just some suggestions.

^ I definitely agree with her, however making an Interfolio account now gives you the ability to have letters on file if you need them later on! Not a bad idea to have a backup letter saved. Plus it makes it easy when it's on you to send the letter from Interfolio, instead of waiting for the dentist or professor to upload the letter to AADSAS once the application opens.

Yep! Or you can have them send to AADSAS to upload for every school to see. It's really nice because if you run out of spots on AADSAS you can use it to send letters directly to schools you apply to. For example, one of the schools I just applied to required a letter from a volunteer coordinator, but I had already used up the 4 evaluation requests on AADSAS. I just had my evaluator upload his letter to Interfolio and it was sent to just the school that asked for that specific recommendation!
