Could miss two interviews because of Hurricane Ida

My flight from Florida panhandle to Boston is scheduled on Nov 11th, the day after Hurricane Ida is supposed to make landfall. I have two interviews in Boston at Tufts (Nov 12) and Boston U (Nov 13). If my flight gets canceled, I'm worried if I will be able to get a rescheduled interview that is still pre-Dec.

Also, what is the standard procedure for having to reschedule an interview due to unforeseen circumstances?

if they don't have any spots to reschedule, i would consider trying to fly out of another airport (maybe tampa? the news said ida would be heading to the east coast after going towards you, so I wouldn't head to tally or gville, but instead go south)

i know you will probably lose money this way, but if but perhaps if you cancel your outbound flights you can at least try to get travel vouchers from the airlines (they usually do this if they don't allow cancellations)

What a tough call, it's pretty hard to predict the path of hurricanes. Try flying out earlier?

maybe call the schools and see if they have other options for you?

The other option will probably be a post-Dec. interview, and that would only be a disadvantage for the OP.

YA sorry to hear that, tough luck. If either schools are your top 3 choices and you REALLY wanna go there. Spend the extra money and fly out there 2-3 days earlier. Whatever you do, I wish you the best in solving this problem : )

Well it looks like Ida weakened a lot, so I don't think there's going to be a problem. 🙂

Haha hope its not a problem...I just got to Maryland and I am flying back to Tallahassee tomorrow night...realllyyyyy do not want to get stuck in between connections at the Atlanta airport

That really sucks to hear about your flight situation. I hope you do make it to Boston and I'll see you there at both Tufts on the 12th and BU on the 13th.
