could robots one day replace dental assistants? if so the DAs are in SERIOUS trouble. somebody should definitely warn them.

on the other hand, if the robots are cheaper to build and maintain, the transition won't be as hard as we all have imagined and overhead will be decreased for almost every dentist.

You can't sleep with robots, silly.

Well, I suppose you can....but they only come in silicone and plastic nowadays. No fun.

Isolite is pretty close and we have that now. With Isolite, all you need is someone to clean up the room when you are done.

Probably until he dies. He'll be paying alimony, child support and sexual harassment lawsuits out the wazoo. Some people can't afford to retire.

I suppose one ASSumption deserves another!!

Robots taking over...No I think it's more like super intelligent chimps taking over ...as they have in the olympics games

This reminds of that old SNL skit about robot insurance. Love that one.

Robots cost more money intially than an CDA, therefore this would not be practical for the majority of dental offices.

i think CDAs are safe because they interact well with the patients and make them feel comfortable. unless a robot had a really good AI, a CDA will help the patient more. but you could command a robot and not worry about hurting its feelings
