Facts&Comparisons Table of Drug-Drug Interactions
Click that. If you don't have access to online.factsandcomparisons.com, you should check with the online resources your school provides; they should have a password to get in for all of their students.
All the red "x"s are all the most significant level 1 drug interactions that coumadin and prozac (you have to compare 2 drugs to pull up this chart) has with the drugs listed on the left. So, for starters; Amiodarone, Androgens, Antineoplastic Agents, Barbiturates, Celecoxib, Cephalosporins, Chloramphenicols, Cimetidine, Dextrothyroxine, and Disulfiram have a level one drug interaction indicated by all the pretty red X's (eFacts defines these as the most critical). Just ignore the column under Prozac....unless you want to know what drugs interact with it. Simply click on the symbol (red x, blue i, or yellow -) to find out the specific reason for the interaction. Nifty, eh?
Quick Tut:
1. efacts homepage:
LINK
2. Under the toolbox column (to the right of the "search monographs" box), find the
Comparative Tables Link and click that (Has a round dark green "NEW" image next to it).
3. Enter in two different drugs. The second drug could be any possible medication....it doesn't really matter what it is. For the example above I chose prozac as my second drug just because that was the first thing that came to mind.
4. There should be a column of choices with checked arrows already selected. You may leave this alone, but to follow the example I used with coumadin, UNcheck all of them except "Drug-Drug Interactions" so we can limit our results to just that choice.
5. Finally select "Go >>" on the bottom right. Voila'!
