If I have worked with a professor for a year databasing and making a collection of all the mosses in the herbarium that will eventually be a live database to go online for other plant biologists to look up and see our collection at our school can this count as research?

I am in no way shape or form a plant biologist and thus don't know much about research in your field

But it sounds like research depends on what your catelog has in it... is it stuff for research or is it more of a list and description...

Best bet is to ask the Prof if s/he thinks what you did is research...

ummm.. im guessing not. but hey, if the professors agrees to sign off for you saying its research then GREAT! its research! lol
