Countdown to June 13th!

29O!....Very glad. Now I can breath in and out. Might not be so high but from my experience during the D-Day, I can PRAISE GOD!!!

28 here! meh.

I had to pee soooo bad half way through physical sciences. The overall is 3-4 points lower than my practices, but I'm in Texas and have a high GPA. So applying I will go!

 I went from a 28N to a 30Q, its not a great score but I'm just glad I didn't do worse! But I'm not sure what to make out of the breakdown, I went from V6 PS10 B12 to a V8 PS12 BS10, will adcoms look down on my Bio for slipping? Its wierd too because I totally thought I bombed the PS and was confident about the Bio section.

36Q

I'm pretty happy, but concerned about the balance of the scores (10,12,14). I wish the "upward trend" would apply in this case 🙂

I took every practice AAMC, every Kaplan section test, and half of the kaplan FLs (not 10 and 11), and I thought that was the most difficult Bio section I seen yet, so I am not too surprised.

I know it's not the highest here, but 33R... I'm satisfied!!! (And especially relieved that I don't have to take this beast again!)

Congrats to all!

If I go ahead and apply now, but I also retake the test in august, will they wait to process my application until the august scores? I want to go ahead and start being considered with these scores, but also have a chance to do better later and update my profile then... is this possible?

You my friend, do not need to worry about balance. That is a nice score, everything in the double digits.

Me on the other hand...

i got exactly the score i didn't want. it was exactly at the cutoff where i wasn't sure whether or not i'd retake. and only three points higher than i began with with my diagnostic. what to do, what to do?

Nice balance, and nice WR score. What state are you from?

Thanks about the WR...too bad i've heard they don't really look at that! I'm from Texas, but would like to go out of state for med school if possible. Yeah, i was happy that at least I had a balance, but it's about a point lower in each section than i had been consistently getting in practice tests...but i'm scared if i take it again, after not studying and going out of the country all summer, i'll drop...

anyone know when aamc is going to post more test dates? they only have up til september 15th.

If you do that you won't have your MCAT back till october. That might be a little late, but not too bad. People will be interviewing by then. You definately are a shoe in for Texas. As for out of state, there are a good number of private schools that you can apply to with those numbers easily.
I would just run with it and apply early rather than retaking. I'm just going to apply with my score and I'm from Cali. Good luck!

Well I'm actually taking a year off before attending, so I won't be applying until next April, so time really isn't an issue for me. If I had a 33, I'd definitely keep it, I just feel like I'm at a really gray area for me. Thanks for the advice and congrats on the good score!

hi everyone! i'm new here and first, i just wanted to congrat everyone for their scores 🙂. i completely understand what you all have been through because even though i haven't taken it yet, i'm already nervous. i'm planning to take it on july 13. since you all have taken it already, i would really appreciate any suggestion you can give me about how should i study to have success. i'm currently taking the online course offered by kaplan and studying from its books. but no matter how much i practice i'm not doing so good in physics. on the other hand, i don't find so hard general chemistry. i just wanted to know how was the material distributed in the test you took. how many passages of general chemistry and physics in PS? same thing with organic chemistry and biology in BS? i just wanted to know in which area i should focus on since i don't have too much time left. i'm desperate. some of my classmates took it and because of their scores they were not admitted into medical school... 🙁 my family keeps telling me that i'm gonna pass it...and i don't blame them for saying that because they're just trying to support me, but i'm afraid they don't know what kind of test is this.
this is my only chance if i want to apply for next year. any advise will be more than useful!! thank you all!🙂

32 P..woo hoo. Highest of my practice scores!

Congrats to everyone! And for anyone who is retaking, best of luck! I know you'll knock it out of the park

they must have liked my writing... wish I could apply some of those points to my BS
overall I'm happy though, nothing below a 10, no retake necessary in my view

congrats to all. for those of you that felt really shaky about PS, did you do better than expected? about what you assumed?

I did far better than I had expected in physics... I didn't do much memorization-style studying, and I found there was a lot of that so I was expecting to tank it. I was getting between 9 and 12 on the practice that I had done, so an 11 was much welcomed. I think the curve definitely helped.

HI-FIVE to everyone for workin your asses off.

Five points better than I felt I'd done. Phew! 36 was my highest practice test.

Ok...can someone else please fess up to their less than stellar score? Seeing some of the freaky scores makes me feel like the first time I stepped into the high school shower as a freshmen. I would like to feel like less of a mitten-wearer here. Here. I'll go again.

Getting any points higher than your highest score must be the best feeling ever. I hope i can say the same, i took to May 16.

I wouldn't feel bad, the people that post their scores are those that did really well on the exam. A 27 is not bad (better than what most people make on it) and a T means you did even better on the essays then even the person who scored a 41!! Taking test tomorrow so don't know what I'll score yet...

Already posted mine. What's your break down?

8/11/9 here 🙁 28.

I was always scoring 10/12/10 on my practice, and sometimes higher. Then boom, D-day.

Nice writing score! Holy crap, perhaps you can tell me your secret 🙂

Thanks for the kind words. My breakdown was 8/10/9 (PS/BS/VR). I've been writing for health and fitness magazines for a number of years and teach adjunct at a local university. I grade lots of bad writing so I guess it helps my writing a little. I haven't taken prerequisites in ~12-15 years so I'm not jumping off the cliff just yet.

I think for me to really pump up my score, it would involve reliving my undergrad years and taking basic sciences again. I think that makes a difference. The prep materials were helpful, but the classes gives you more context from which to draw out the answers to some MCAT questions - IMHO.

35O, which I'm pretty happy with. Balance was good also (11V,12B,12P). I'm from New Orleans and that score pretty much puts me into any school over here, which is where I want to stay anyway.

My only complaint is that my verbal score actually went down from a 14 on my diagnostic with kaplan 6 months or so ago. But my physical sciences went up from a 6 and my bio went up from an 8 during that time. I basically did no verbal work and focused most on physics, since I hadn't taken a physics class in about 8 years.

I think the verbal drop has a lot to do with reading on a computer screen though. My diagnostic was on paper and I do a lot better with paper, at least with longer passages.

For all the complaining on here it seems like a lot of people did fairly well, which is good to hear. The lowest scores that have been reported on this thread are very respectable. To me, if you score a 30 or above, there's little point in risking a retake, even if you were doing better than that on practices. If you are in the 27-29 range, its a gamble but if you feel like you can pull it up to a 30 then it might be worth it. But there is nothing wrong with a 27, 28, or 29 score.

For anyone taking the test soon, my greatest bit of advice is to take as many practice tests as you can fit in. I did 8 full-length practices in the 2.5 weeks leading up to the mcat. On the day before I took it, I took the day off and relaxed. The morning of the test I put on my Ipod and took about an hour and a half walk in the park and didn't let a single mcat topic cross my mind.
