countdown to sept 13 release

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Well I'm not applying until next cycle, but I'm so anxious already. Ever since walked out of the testing center, I was ready to get my score back. After coming on here and hearing what everyone else had to say about the test, I'm more anxious than ever. When did you take your exam? I thought the release date was September 12th...

I tested on Aug 9th. I'm visiting AAMC now.. hahaha... 9-12 would be awesome. 👍

Edit: It IS the 12th!! Woohoo! (course, if its anything like this latest test it'll be the thirteenth anyway..lol)

Goddammit someone started a countdown thread. Time to post on it.

Good thing I'm not that superstitious, my test seat was number 13.

Did you test in the AM or PM? How do you feel about the exam now that it is a week old.

I'm not applying until 2009, but I would say im pretty damn ready. I wish my school had started already so the days would go by faster though! COMMON luck for verbal.

Is anybody else REALLY really anxious? It's all I can think about now, and it's been over 48 hours since the test. HOW AM I GOING TO LAST 4 MORE WEEKS?!?! I keep going over questions in my head that I know I got wrong. 🙁

The 8/9 scores are scheduled to be released on the same date as the 8/14 scores. So, if you think you're anxious, keep us 8/9'ers in mind...

Yeah I know.... but they'll probably post your scores on the expected release date. Ours will probably be delayed a day or two. They'd be more apt to put yours up on time since your test date was earlier. *Sigh* This is going to be the longest month ever.

I tested in the AM. I still feel great about it... I guess that could be a bad sign, but I'm figuring I can't get much worse than my april score (22Q) and considering I actually KNEW some answers this time..:laugh:

Just ready for them to come out already!!!

I'm soooo ready! I'm applying this cycle also and I really need a decent score! Are you working on secondaries?

:luck:

Yep, I actually got secondaries everywhere I applied already... I was shocked considering my sucky MCAT score. Unfortunately, I'm a nontraditional and finishing up a ton of my sciences this year, so I'm waiting on LORs too (have to get two once class starts next week lol). But the paper parts are primarily done, and they are ready to go as soon as the profs say a-ok we'll write the letters...

MCAT virgin? 😛

The wait is honestly easier this time, although its still not fun.. grr.

Anybody want to take a shot at their score?
I'll bite first:

April - 22Q
PS: 6 (ouch)
VR: 8 (ouch again)
BS: 8 (ouch, but not surprised)

Average kaplan score - 25-27
Average aamc -29-32

Projection for Aug 9 (realistic): 25-28
PS: 8-9
VR: 9-10
BS: 8-9

Projection for Aug 9 (dreaming): 32
PS: 10
VR: 12
BS: 10

nice. What was your practice range?

I don't really want to say because I'm probably holding too high expectations for myself. I ranged from 28-31 on AAMCs, but my last 3 AAMCs (8, 9, 10) were 10/10/10, 10/11/9, and 10/11/10. I feel like I really knocked the ball out of the park on verbal on the real deal, and I'm hoping that my sciences stay about the same. It may just be wishful thinking to get anything above a 30 or 31, but if I got a few extra points on verbal, I could have done it. Truth is, you never really know until you get your scores back. I already know I missed like 3 questions at least in each science section, and that's just from talking to other people online. I feel like my score could be a 26 or it could be a 34. I just have no idea.

Oh oh while were dreaming

Dreams - 41!!
PS: 15
VR: 11
BS: 15

Realistic - 33
PS: 12 (avg 12)
VR: 8 (avg 9 and I hate verbal, felt like crap on it)
BS: 13 (avg 13)

:meanie:👍

Practice Scores Ranged fom 32 - 37. VR usually around a 9 or 10, but I freaked out during the test, and probably blew it.

Dream:
BS: 15
VR: 13
PS: 14

42.

Probable:
BS: 13
VR: 11
PS: 13

37.

My practices were 36-41. I think I did worse on verbal than I ever have in over 10 practice tests, so I am actually dreaming for an 11. I would probably be happy with an 11, livid with a 12. If I dropped below 36 on the real deal, I won't be happy.

Still not as bad as my seat: #1. Hopefully I won't get #1 in each section... I'm so glad school starts on Thursday. I'll be able to keep my mind distracted a little more.

3 weeks from Wednesday night...

Same here about school. With 4 lab science classes and graduate work, i'll surely have SOMETHING to do...

I concur, it feels as if the days are moving on soooo slow. I get up in the morning and it takes ages before it gets to noon.. I can't take this! Damn it all if I get a crappy score.👎scared:

Grrr.. i know. It seems like months ago.. and at the same time just yesterday.. that we took the beast..

I don't think i did very well, so strangely enough I'm not freaking out. I think I would be if I thought I did pretty well, but the nice thing is that right now, I'm just waiting to see how bad it is and already resigned to not getting a good score.

yea... pretty much same here. i've already decided to retake it sometime in january perhaps.

so tired. didn't think abt mcat at all today... until now.. lol

I didn't think about it too much today. I had a Forensic Science Open House I had to attend this morning, then I had to come home and clean my room, and then I went out with friends for some dinner and drinks. And tomorrow I'll have school. I'm so happy my schedule is filling up! NO MORE THINKING ABOUT THE MCAT!

Even with all five classes I'm taking and work I still find myself having time to contemplate. grrr....

Or you can be just THAT unlucky because you're sitting in seat #13

=D

Oh just kidding.

Want to clear your mind? Pick up a new book!

I just started one! (a new book that is) and have a significant, although not devastating, amount of homework for the weekend.
Not too long now, guys. I'm ready! 👍

God am I ready. I realized that on September 12th, I have a class from 2:00-2:50 and one from 5:30-6:45. Guess what I'll be doing from 3:00-5:15? I will be glued to the freaking computer in our computer lab, just waiting for the score release. It's going to be interesting to try to stifle my reaction because there will be about a hundred of my classmates sitting around me.

If I do well, though, I'm printing out my score report and proudly taking it to my 5:30 class (it's actually a class I'm preceptoring for).

Yep, me too. Haven't posted in quite a while, but school has started, and I'm sorry SDN, but we can't be together anymore...Anyway, on the 12th I will be anxiously waiting for my scores, too. I hope I get to shout.
I'm currently going through the Harry Potter books from 1 to 7 in order, so I can get my closure with the series. Well, see you all later, and maybe on the 12th we will have good things to say about our exam like the July 24th people.
