What is the numeric scale on the left side of pill counting trays that are used in pharmacies?

If it is a triangle, then gives nbr of tablets corresponding to nbr of rows.

ie 5 rows are 15, 7 rows are 28.

My pharmacists say it's to tell what size bottle to place the medication in.
I'm not entirely sure.

I heard the same thing as well, something about doubling the number will tell you what dram vial to use.

I like to put a little olive oil (just a very thin layer) from the store on my counting tray. It has improved my 120 count oxycodone time by 17 seconds.

Counting trays now rarely used in UK. Majority of products are packed in cartons of 28 or multiples. Blister or alloy blister packaging is used. Speeds up dispensing and packs are relatively child proof.

We are trying to persuade govnmt to bring in original pack dispensing. This would stop snipping of strips and allow more automation.
