doomday coming up very soon.

1) How is QR on the real exam in comparison to the QR section in DAT destroyer (not math destroyer)? And datQvault

2) I still don't understand TFE...HELP!! How does PAT compare to Kaplan PAT?

3) When do you know to do alpha hydrogenation? I know it's done with big bulky bases like LDA but I always mistake it and don't end up thinking of looking at the alpha hydrogen.

my friend took the dat 2 weeks ago and she said that QR was almost identical to TOPSCORE tests. for TFE, ive been seeking advice but the only real advice is keep practicing and look at the answers to visualize things more and practice practice practice. the more you practice the more you visualize, i went from scoring like a 13 PAT on the first achiever to a 17 on achiever 2 PAT, on first achiever i had 1 question right on TFE on 2nd i had 8 right, so thats a pretty damn good improvement you just need to practice it

QR is much easier than any practice material on the real test. At times tho, backsolving is better than actually solving the problem through because of the quadratic forumla. the number one tip is don't spend more than 1 min on a ques. Your best bet is to mark it. And the 2009 ADA AR and reading were both significantly harder than the real exam. Don't worry the test is easy compared to practice materials.

@qnzbabi91 I think you might be one of the biggest reasons I'm as calm as I am about this exam. Thank you 😀

Agree with the QR being easier. I didn't start studying QR until about 5 days before my test, but I still got a 20. My best advice is this:

1) Do the ones you know first, and then deal with the tricky ones. Time is the biggest complaint here, but it won't be as bad if you don't spend 5 mins on the first question.

2) PROCESS OF ELIMINATION. There were at least 3 on my test that I had no clue how to do but I'm 90% I got right because I was able to recognize which answers were stupid and eliminate 3/4 wrong answers and make an educated guess. No practice prepared me for this, but on the test I just had to make guesses on the ones I didn't know how to do and it obviously worked pretty well.

3) Learn trig, seriously. I could have probably scored a 23+ in this section if I bothered to learn it. It's always been my downfall, I was cramming trig flashcards the day of my DAT just like I did the night before my AP calc exam. There were probably 5 trig questions on my real exam. I got 2 but had to make blind guesses at the other 3. If I actually learned how to do trig(basic identities and formulas), they probably wouldn't have been tricky at all.

Good luck.
