Couple of enrollment and acceptence questions

First say I get accepted to one of my first choice schools, but I want to take a gap year. Can I take classes at a local university and then attend in a year? If would I have to re-apply as a new student or as a transfer student?

Secondly can I attend two colleges at once? Say that I am attending a local university and then I want to get an online degree at the same time is it possible.

Why would you take a gap year if you're going to take classes anyway?

I think that you could theoretically attend 2 schools full-time simultaneously, but that's a seriously bad, bad idea. Med school pre-reqs are plenty hard enough when they don't come during 30-hour semesters. I'm not sure how the gap year thing works, but I don't think you'll have to reapply if the "main" school gives you an option to defer for a year.
