1) I don't understand how they deduced that l=3, somehow means that it's in the f orbital

2) I hate these problems with a passion. I don't even know how to fold this POS.

3) Why does the answer solution do P1V1T1 instead of P1V1/T1??

4) No idea what to do here.

5) Why is Sec (45) root2 instead of 2 over root2? Because Cos (45) is root2/2, so thus, since its sec (45), wouldn't it be the inverse??

1) Is the answer 10 or 14. l=3 means that it is the f subshell (0=s, 1=p,etc.) so I would think that the answer is 14.

3) If the answer is 3 atm, the the P1V1/T=P2V2/T2 works as it should.

4) Since both are 1M, you would need 20 ml HCl to get to the equivalence pt and neutralize the solution. Then you would have to add some more to get it down to pH=2. Set up using C1V1=C2V2. I will use the stock solution of HCl on the left side.
The 40+x is because you already have 40 mL after neutralizing then you need to add x more to get to pH=2.
(1M)(x mL)=(10^-2 M for the pH=2)(40+x)
Solve for x and you will estimate around .04 so the answer should be the 20.2

(2√2)/2=
√ 2

2/√2 = √2
Same thing.
