Which upper division science courses would you recommend to definitely take (apart from the intro. prereqs)?

So far, I've got Biochemistry, Genetics, Human Anatomy and Physiology...

Also, I may not be able to take biochem. before the MCAT (I am taking the old mcat). Will this be a major disadvantage to me??

What year are you in?

As an aside, I found anatomy to be my toughest course (I even found orgo easier!). Not only because it was full year, but there are (gasp!) literally thousands of structures you need to know, macroscopic and microscopic. (Loop of Henle is ingrained into my brain!) Physiology is very easy as long as you can put a bit of studying into it.

No, it won't be a disadvantage. I would take biochem if I were you.

Molecular Immunology, Pharmacology (if school offers on basic level), Medical terminology classes. IMO game it based on your current sGPA. If it is pretty good then don't overload on the upper divisions and risk lowering it. Otherwise if it could use a little beefing up then look up all the upper division science your school offers and choose which ones you will likely excel in. Utilize Ratemyprofessors and ask people if they have taken upper divisions you are interested in.

Cell Biology. And don't take a class with both Anatomy and Physiology in the same class, as it waters each of them down too much. You'd be fine with waiting on the Anatomy until med school, or shortly before, as you'll forget too much of it.
