Okay, so I am taking 17 credits this coming term and my school is on a 3 term schedule (Not semester). I'll be taking the following:

Math 65........................4 credits
Writing 122...................4 credits
Psychology 203.............4 credits
Chem 104......................5 credits (Lab)

I realize that I am starting far lower than the majority of pre-pharmacy students due to my horrible math placement but I haven't done math in 10 years...and that's a long time to forget everything. I just want to make sure I can maintain my 4.0 GPA (I have schooling in an unrelated field) so that if I do end up getting B's in Organic Chem/Physics or something later on it won't kill my overall GPA.

What do you guys think?

I am currently taking 18 credits at my CC. The work load is not as bad as it seems. I am only struggling in one class because I can not understand the professor, I do have an A in the class. I have an A in every class. Also, I do not work! If you are working I would highly suggest against doing four. If you do know the professor you will have for those classes then go talk to them and ask them how is the work load, how every does in the class...

I work as a Physical Trainer at a gym about 10 hours a week also...not sure if that's too much given my course load but any/all input is appreciated.

18 hours with one lab course isn't bad. 15 hours with 3 of 4 having labs can be much worse.

If you are working 40 hours a week, then 17 credits would be extremely difficult, but since you are working only 10 hours a week, I think you can pull it off! Regarding math, it is absolutely possible for you to master with practice. Don't lose hope, all power is in you - you can do it!

If you can stay organized and on top of things you will be fine. I took 27 hours last semester split between two colleges that were an hour apart. 5 sciences and I finished the semester with a 3.7. I didnt work either but as long as you are organized 17 will be manageable.

17 hours /w 40 hr/wk work is the limit. I did it for one semester. You'll never be bored though.

Wow! I feel challenged to do it!

Care to elaborate? Due to my horribly low math start...I'll be in that predicament in 3-4 terms...

Most labs are 1 hour. If you take 3 1-hour labs you are looking at 9 hours of being at school vs 3 for a lecture class. So if you take 15 hours (3 4-hour, 1 3-hour), you have 7 places you have to be for 3 hours. So even though it looks like you will have one less class, you essentially have one more than 6 3-hour classes.
