Course load advice and DAT Q

Hello. So its that time of year again to fill out courses for the following semester. A few friends asked me about my course load and gave me the evil eye. I'm here just to hear some feedback. Thank you 🙂

18 credits total
5 credits - General Physics 1
5 credits Organic 2
4 credits Elementary spanish 101 (lowest level)
4 credits some anthropology course

In regards to how I'm doing in orgo 1, I will hopefully average out an A depending on the final. Overall class was clear, everything seemed to overlap with each-other. 4 day school week, tuesday being the worst. M/W/Thursday have a 4-6 hour window between classes so I could study in the library then. No job this semester or obligations.

I also have a question regarding the DAT and the application process. I was playing around with the idea of applying for the 2012 cycle and taking the DAT in july. Searched on the forums and found that people with similar situations scored a +18 with just orgo 1, and +20 when they actually tried to use resources such as chads videos to learn orgo 2.

Now my question is

Is it possible to apply to just 1 school in june to get the application processing in regards to the transcript, and wait until I get my scores to apply to the rest? I'm guessing that would double the cost wouldn't it? In the sense of adding more schools after the DAT and sending those DAT scores individually.

Thats not a bad idea. You apply to 1 school (minimize costs) and if you scored well on the DAT, you commit more $$$ into the application.

As far as cost goes, AADSAS only charges you for # of schools applied. They do give a slight discount when you go up to above 10 or 15 schools. For me, applying to 18 schools cost $1451

Nah they don't do that.

I do believe there is like a $300+ for the first school... So if you select a second set of schools (after DAT), they might charge you $300 for first school again...
