hello.

what happens if you dont take a full course load during the normal school year (september-may)? meaning taking 4/5 courses. how does a dentist school look at this? because i think i have to drop physiology.

also, do dental school look at all four years into consideration?

and do schools consider summer school marks?

thanks

i heard it's best to stay on 4/5 classes a semester but ending up with only 3 classes for a semester isn't the end of the world and it's better than killing your GPA in the long run... But if you don't have any other science classes than physio for the semester it might be a little risky to drop it cause in dental school you're required to do everything all at once...

keeping you GPA super high is def 100 times more important than doing 21 credits and getting a B and C. Schools when they are filtering dont care how hard your course load is. All that matters is that #, I took a really hard 12 credits scienc semester to make sure I didn't go crazy and Im sure it has all worked out for me. No one has even hinted or mentioned anything like that in an interview. It sure is nice being a science major though b/c they seem to be grilling non-science

But also someone that only takes 2 classes a quarter while everyone else takes 3-4 with a high GPA doesn't look better than someone who takes 3-4 classes with a slightly lower GPA. Esp since in dental school you will be taking like 12-18 classes a quarter/semester.

thanks for your replies. but still wondering if dental schools count summer courses into GPA calculation into getting a dentist school.
