Hey everyone,
I attend Drexel and we are on the quarter system. Our organic chem sequence is broken down into orgo 1, 2, and 3. Half of the year students are in class while the other half they are working full time in a job related to their major (while taking a class or two).
So right now i took orgo 1 and 2 during the fall and winter quarters. Now im about to start working at a hospital and I am able to take up to 1 class free of charge. I wanted to take orgo 3 so I can take the entire sequence in order and not have to wait until next fall to take orgo 3. I have read that med schools typically look down on students who take pre-reqs over the summer however I am not sure if this is the case for me as I will also have a full time job and not be sitting around doing nothing.
Based on what you read or your experiences, do you think this will really make a big difference to adcoms? I got an A in orgo 1 and a B in orgo 2 so I guess that shows im capable of doing well with a full course load.
Sorry if this has been answered. I had trouble finding an answer about the quarter system rather than taking something over the summer. My premed advisor just got "promoted" to prelaw also, so its nearly impossible to get in contact with him.
