Hi all,

I'm in a bit of a dilemma here and I'm not sure how to approach it. I'm currently a Junior now attending a university on the quarter system (classes started a week ago). When scheduling, I felt I took a pretty easy work load, but man I was wrong. I'm taking Physics I w/Lab, Adv Cell Bio (600 level), Anatomy and Physiology I w/Lab (200 level), Chinese Civilization, and 3 credits of research for a grand total of 18 cred hours. My Advanced Cell Bio is nothing compared to regular cell... we had an assignment that was worth 2% of our grade which literally took 10 hours to complete (and only 1st week lol). I really want to take this class as its really interesting and develops critical thinking. Would dropping Chinese Civilization make my schedule seem a bit too easy for AdComs? I feel that they'll look negatively to my research credit as, quite frankly, is an easy A which makes it seem that I have 12 credit hours this quarter. My GPA is at 3.90 atm.

If the work load is too demanding, and going to result in a drop of GPA and enjoyment, I'd say drop the class. If you drop it you'd be at 12 credits, which is still considered full time, and you have the 3 research credits. If you don't enjoy the class, drop it. If you do enjoy the class either stick it out, or take it at another time. If your semester just started, you can also look into enrolling in another class to replace the Chinese Civilization class. Just keep that GPA up!
