I'm leading towards doing a postbacc independently at a local state university, mainly due to cost.
I have a B.S. in Bio Sci from 1994 so I've already taken all the prerequisites. However, due to the age of them, I am retaking everything. I looked at some MCAT practice questions and I seem to have forgotton almost everything! 🙁
For the first year, I'm thinking of taking the following sequence for three quarters (Fall '05, Winter '06, Spring '06):
Gen Chem w/ Lab
Bio w/ Lab
Physics w/ Lab
During my undergrad, I never took more than two science classes per quarter w/ lab. All the remaining classes were usually non-science, gen ed. classes. If I did take more than two science classes, only two of them had labs. I remember the labs (especially the O-chem write-ups) took up a lot of time that could be used to study or read.
Do you think this is too heavy of science w/ lab course load? I'm hoping I'll remember a lot of the subject matter upon retaking them, so my thinking is that it will be manageable. I'm just trying to map everything out so that I will be ready to take the April 2007 MCAT.
