Course Load?

As I start to fill out my four year course-plan for college, I plan on taking 15-16 hours (quarter system). 2 science labs, 2 science lectures, and 1 humanities or 3 sciences lectures and 1 humanities.

Am I on the right track (as long as I do really well in my courses)? Is this normal for matriculants into dental school?

Give yourself a chance to take courses that interest you beyond just majors and prereqs. 👍 Don't load up on courses just to be extra 'rigorous' and let your grades suffer because of it.

I took 12 credits fall semester and 12 spring (now) but will take 2 core classes (6 credits) over the summer so it balances out. Just an idea.

The main reason I asked is because I kept reading on pre-dental websites that adcoms will look that you took the maximum course load at your university. Maybe they meant don't be a part time student? I started freaking out because I am taking 15-16 units, and I know people who have taken 24. Technically I wasn't taking the "maximum course load". But from what I've seen 12 is generally considered acceptable? Thanks again guys.

Part time is acceptable if you have something significant going on outside of the classroom.
