So, for financial reasons, I'm working really hard to finish up my BS as quickly as possible. My schedule is pretty crazy and I'm curious as to how early I need my pre reqs done. The basic pre req classes will be done by I take the MCAT, so hopefully they'll be done once I start applying for med school. Do I have to have the basic pre reqs (Biochemistry, Physics II, etc) done before I apply to med school? Also, would it be okay to have to take classes to complete my degree the summer before med school? And, in that sense, would it be okay if I didn't "officially" finish my degree until the summer before I go to med school? I can't meet with my advisor for a while and am just curious. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Either done, or by Dec of the current cycle IIRC.

And no I don't believe you're allowed to complete your degree the summer before... Because what if you take your classes and then "fail"? Essentially Med school can revoke your admission status because you didn't complete the degree courses and you don't have a BS/BA.

Yes your acceptances are usually contingent on you finishing your degree. That being said you can take courses up until the day you matriculate to make it count
