I'll be taking

Cell Biology with lab 4
Chemistry I with lab 4
Intro to psychology 3
College writing 3
Intro to religion 3

Is this too much for a freshman? Any suggestions? Maybe calc over summer?

Doable esp. as a freshman when you probably don't have as many extracurriculars going on. With that said, you have to be motivated to study otherwise you potentially will do terrible.

All in all it comes down to are you confident in your skills and if so are you willing to study quite a bit. If so, then sure. If no, then don't lmao.

Doesn't sound too hard.

I took 18 credits my first semester of freshmen year and ended the semester with a 4.0. If I can do it, you definitely can although I did get the occasional nervous breakdown. Just stay on top of things and do NOT let the mid semester slack get to you. College writing, psych, and religion will be the Easy A courses. You need to really concentrate on Bio and Chem

Shouldn't be too hard to pull a 3.8 with that schedule at your university. The question is can you handle tutoring people in 5 classes and 2 labs? 😛

In all seriousness though are you racing against the clock to graduate or something? Getting a great gpa and getting into medical school isn't a race and I personally would never take 17 credits. Sure, intro psych, writing, and religion won't be challenging in the way that chem and bio will be, but don't underestimate classes like those either. I have taken similar classes to those three at my institution and they have all required significant time commitments to get As.

What changes would you make? Take 14 credits maybe? Drop psychology?

That could be a good change. Maybe take psych closer to your mcat? I took psych the semester before my mcat and the timing really helped. I was able to spend more time with the chem/phys and bio/biochem sections that would have been otherwise been spent on psych, and the time I did spend studying psych was spent doing passages and reviewing experimental design rather than content review.

If you've done well this semester this should be quite doable. In fact this is the kind of course load you need to be taking to graduate in 4 year (unless you want to take classes every summer)

I mean not exactly a 3.8 that was a rough estimate and I was a little furious while making that post. I'm some where between a 3.5-3.6. Not all of my midterm grades were up. A rough estimate haha that was a bad one

That's pretty decent, man. My gpa was < 3.3 after freshman year and I had to climb a mountain to get it above 3.7 for my application.

Does SDN glitch for you guys too? Every time time I sign on, I log in as a different user :/

Is this common? It says I'm signed in as a different user, then tells me to log in...

I too get signed in as Vatocapsycstudent.

On a side note, I found this page by googling the name. It's amazing how quickly google indexes things because you just posted a few seconds ago

This isn't the first time for me. It changes most of the time

Doesn't sound impossible as long as you were able to swing that 3.6 with a similar course load this semester.

From personal experience don't try to ramp up the difficulty of your schedule too fast. I had a 3.5 the first semester freshman year, decided I was doing well and went for a much harder course load the following semester. Long story short I failed out of biology and ended the semester with a heroic 2.8. If you do that you're gonna have a bad time.

Your first semester in college will likely fool you into thinking college is very easy. Don't fall for it.

You do not have a GPA. You are a freshman in college in your first semester. Report back after final grades come out. Midterms mean nothing.

Are you not turkishking the genius and prodigy? Your classmates flock to you for your wisdom. We all know getting A's in these classes will be a trifling task for you. Consider adding a few more.
