I am registering courses for the spring semester. Between Animal Physiology and Genetics, which one do you think will make me better prepared for the dental school this fall?
BTW, I will also take the following courses:
Biological Chemistry II
Pathophysiology
Introduction To The Immune System And Applications to Immunologic And Genetic Therapies

As always, it depends on your school. Are both classes considered pre-professional courses? Are they weed-out classes designed to be competitive? How much material is covered? The answers to these questions vary from school to school. I would suggest you talk to you advisor, and ask him/her for advice on which courses to take. They will know the classes at your school better than anyone on SDN.

I believe the Animal Physiology course will be much better and more relevant than Genetics in my opinion. If you took a look at some curriculums during d-school, physiology is an important aspect of dental education. I have yet to see Genetics play AS important role. Again, only my opinion. I also had a choice between the two and ended up taking Animal Physio and I'm very glad; I learned quite a bit of info. Good luck!

i dont remember there being much animal phys. on the dAT than there was genetics. But then again, its nothign you cant learn in a review guide for the dat.

Take what you will enjoy not what you think someone wants you to take. If you take what you enjoy you will study harder, be more focused and have a better outlook on everything.
