I know this has probably been answered 1000 times but I can't find a thread about it for some reason. I had to retake chemistry because I got a D in it the first time. I have it entered in the AADSAS application twice. Once showing my D and once showing my A the following semester. Which one do I enter in as repeated? Or do I classify them both as repeated?

You should mark the second one as repeated. Do not worry about the special designation of courses very much because AADSAS staff will correct them accordingly when you submit your app for verification.

.

I called them about it today and they said to put them both as repeated. Glad I didn't use your common sense as a source

Strangely, that's not what their online instructions say to do. Gotta love that! Ugh. I just posted about this in the AADSAS FAQs yesterday.

The sad truth is that AADSAS gives out misinformation. Depending on who you get on the phone, you can get a different answer. I suppose that's just life, though!

Honestly, though, it would have been fine either way you did it. If AADSAS doesn't like how something is entered in your coursework, they will just fix it. 🙂

From the website:
  • Special classifications: Indicate if the course has any special classifications designations. Select not applicable if the course does not have a special classification. Special classifications include:
    • Repeated Course. Any course attempted more than once. Do not indicate it for the first attempt. If the course could be categorized under two classifications, “Repeat” should be selected.

Well, if you go by the description they just gave you, you'd put down the grades you got for both of them AND include the special classification of "repeated" for both.
