Hi,

I have asked the doctor I shadowed for the last several months for a letter of recommendation and he was more than willing to write one for me however, he asked me to send him a cover letter so that he can write the LOR. I had thought he would specifically ask for a personal statement but that wasn't the case. Now I am a little unsure as to what I should include, any thoughts? Any input would be much appreciated! Sorry if this question has already been posted, I couldn't find it!

Also, if any one has some spare time and can read my personal statement to give me input I will GREATLY appreciate it. I am applying this cycle and am still struggling with the ps and putting all my thoughts together.

Thanks!

Typically the physicians that are writing LORs for you require a resume or a CV that shows what you've done during your academic career, and what you've done for ECs. I'm guessing the physician had meant for you to send him a CV as it is the most comprehensive list of your academia, ECs, and achievements. I would suggest asking them for clarification.

As for the PS, there should be a PS reader list somewhere on the forum if your not having any luck finding anyone to read it. I'm not exactly sure if it's on the MD or DO forum, or if it is a stickied post, but a simple forum search should yield some results. Good luck with your PS. Hopefully I offered some insight towards your problem.
