Cover timer on real MCAT

Hello. I find the timer at the bottom of the screen when doing FLs to be very distracting because it causes me to panic everytime I look at it. Are you allowed to cover the timer with scratch paper on the monitor when writing the real MCAT?

Isn't there a button you can push on the screen that says "hide timer"? I've only taken 1 practice FL but I thought that option was there....
