hey anybody else come across with the problem with matching ID with SS card name?

My SS and transcripts says, for example, Michael John Smith, but everything like my drivers ID says Michael J Smith.

I dont want to change the SS name if I dont have to! I'm afraid its going to screw up something or whatever and cause more problems in the future, like if I want to transfer to another state (some require transcripts again) and the names dont "match"

Is changing the name on SS a big deal?

I was told by a rep from Pearsons for the Naplex that the middle name/initial didn't matter. b/c I registered with the board as "Michael John Smith", (even though my transcript and transferred hours come as Michael J. Smith) but the paperwork from Pearsons was as "Micheal J. Smith." My IDs have "Michael John Smith."
Call the board to be sure.

But the IDs should match, which is in all the correspondence from the board.

For CPJE, drivers license, name on file, and SS cared have to match up word for word, no ifs and or buts! there are tons of threads on this same topic, i think it has been made very clear by now.

For CPJE can we use a passport and SS card as our identification? or does it have to be a drivers license?

You can only change your name on the SS card according to what is on your birth certificate or if you get a court order changing your name. They will not change it to reflect only initials or whatever else you'd like. Additionally, you will have to change your name with the State Board and DMV accordingly. the good news is that it doesn't take that long. turnaround for everything was about 3 weeks.
