I hope that they're something that could help an app; I don't have x-ray certification, but I do have CPR, bloodborne pathogens training, and oxygen administration. So, yeah, anyone who knows if this sort of thing actually is useful on applications, please speak up! 🙂
I am trained as an EMT-basic, I put it under Extracurricular/volunteer/ community service. I see it as a community service activity, because you get certified to help those around you. I would do the same for xray, and cpr training. I think it shows involvement in your community even if you've never had to use it.

Huh, I never thought about it that way, but that's really a great way to classify it. 👍I am trained as an EMT-basic, I put it under Extracurricular/volunteer/ community service. I would be surprised if CPR certification meant anything to adcoms. Everyone who works in healthcare has to be certified so it's nothing special. EMT training is unique though.I am trained as an EMT-basic, I put it under Extracurricular/volunteer/ community service. X-ray certification only means something in the states that require it (like California) so I wouldn't include it in the app unless you're trying to focus on those states. Most states allow on-the-job training for taking dental x-rays (which I think they shouldn't!).
