What kind of CPR course should we take? Is it the basic (3-hour) or the intensive one? Thanks! And is it required?

LOL. Back to square one 🙂. Does anyone know if wvsom requires it before matriculating? I could ask the school but I've bothered them enought already!ShyRem said:I thought ACLS was pretty easy as a paramedic, but I do remember a med student coming in and taking it - he was TOTALLY lost. He didn't know his rhythms yet, and though he knew what the drugs did, he had no clue as to dosage (first he wanted to give 1 mg of lidocaine, later he was going to give 80 mg of epi). If you're comfortable with rhythms and drugs, dosages are pretty darn easy to learn.
As for CPR, some schools require it before matriculation. Call the hospital or local ambulance company and ask when the next AHA BLS-C course will be offered. It's a one day 8 hour class that's a piece of cake to pass. Who knows - maybe the school will let you out of the class if you just took it and have a current cert.
Thanks.mshheaddoc said:Never heard of required prior to matric. Usually always trained during school as far as I was aware at most schools. I wouldn't worry about it. If you are, call.
