I need to get certification for CPR for health care providers. I have a course near me called BLS for Health Care Professionals.

I think BLS is basic life support. Is this the correct course to take?

Yes--BLS for Health Care Professionals.

Yup. If you have training already in CPR an just need the certification it would be easier to do online. Much cheaper online but if it's your first time and you need hands on training a insure class is the way to go.

Yep. If you have a CPR background, though, you could just give the Red Cross a call and schedule a challenge for their CPR-HCP/AED cert (unless your facility specifically wants AHA). Challenge courses are faster and often cheaper (just a quick test; no training involved).

I thought Red Cross only certifies you for a year? AHA is for 2 years.

I would do AHA. You're eventually going to have to have AHA certifications in BLS and ACLS (maybe PALS and NRP as well). The certifications are for 2 years and it is simplest to stay with one organization, IMO.
