Not the best way of equalizing to CMGs, but something for those Canadians who have gone abroad (as many of them do go to these countries for med school) or those who are Canadian permanent residents and have come from these countries. A new "pathway" ... but at least something.

Under the subheading of "Registration Pathways":
... "trained in jurisdictions with accreditation systems recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Such jurisdictions include Australia, Hong Kong, the Republic of Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, South Africa and the UK"

*** This is IN THEORY and will try to be implemented at some point in time. At least they are trying to relatively fast track those graduates - still to have a less amount of restrictions, but restrictions nonetheless.

There was a debate about 15-20 years ago that actually lead to the a court case on "preferential treatment/discrimination" and has lead to the total grouping of ALL IMGs in the same pool (don't have source on hand), but will this effort be crushed or allowed to pass through? We'll wait and see.

Interesting. India is not included in the list.
