Quick question:

Taking out one lead and a battery (old school medtronic system)

Implanting two nevro leads and a new battery.

CPT codes?

63663 x 2 units
63688

?

I would use Abbott which has both BurstDR and tonic. Some patients who had tonic might want to gall back on it later.

I already trialed her.
Left that old medtronic lead in place... and just put in two trial Nevro leads on top of it

I was wondering what the correct CPT codes would be for taking an old lead and an old battery out and placing two new leads and a new battery

No... my understanding is the codes would be 63663x2, and 63685. 63688 is for revision or removal, this would be replacement, since it’s a new system

Does that sound accurate to everyone? That’s the way I’ve been doing it..
