hello 🙂

I was wondering if anyone can please explain the 2nd diagram (3 sides painted).

the explanation says "ILLUSION" in red and i don't get it lol
the way i perceived this diagram is... 3 cubes on top, 5 cubes in the 2nd row (4L, 1R), and 2 cubes the bottom row (1L, 1R)

Thanks a lot in advance!! 🙂

There are two rows, the back row has 9 cubes, the front has 3 cubes. 1 - 5 sided cube, 2 - 4 sided cubes, 5 - 3 sided cubes, 4 - 2 sided cubes. Do you see it? 2 cubes are hidden from view behind the 3 front cubes..

lol what are you smoking...

edit:: lol i see it now...after taking literally a couple minutes starting at the picture. These kind of cube counting are stupid, becuae both views can be correct.

edit::: I retract that last statement. I guess for cube counting, all the bottom cubes have to be on the ground since they have to support the top cubes.

I had trouble with this figure too--I just had to guess. CRACK DAT PAT seems to have a few of them dispersed throughout the cube counting sections. On the actual DAT, are there going to be illusions such as this one or are they more straightforward? I cannot "see" it no matter how hard I try...

I have heard majority of the time they would not include optical illusions in cube counting on the real DAT. I got a straightforward one when I took it last. But then why would crack dat pat make you practice them. Maybe its because there is a possibility that the illusion might come up so to be better prepared for it. If you ask me there are optical illusions because I think towards worst case scenario.
