Hello!

I'm practicing RC with Crack DAT RC, and I was wondering what the real DAT was like compared to Crack DAT RC. The passages for Crack DAT RC are about 10-15 paragraphs (relatively short paragraphs...) and the questions are very straight forward (almost word for word in the passage). Is this what I should expect for the real DAT? Also, I noticed that the topics are very broad; I even had a couple historical passages and a few scientific ones... Is this normal for the DAT?

Thanks 😉

I used CDR to prepare for the DAT, and I thought it prepared me relatively well for it. The passages on the DAT are often science related, but the styling of the questions happens to be pretty similar. I think I remembered it to be similar in paragraph length as well. The one thing that was different in format was that in CDR, if you changed questions, the paragraph that you're reading would stay put, whereas on the real DAT, anytime you change questions the passage goes back to the start (which can be annoying if you got used to the other way).

By "science related," does it mean that the passages are like text-book material (cellular level, systems, etc.)? In Crack DAT RC, the science readings that I had so far are more general topics, such as problems with obesity and laser eye surgery... but none of these passages delved into the cellular level...

I wouldn't say that it's textbook material, but maybe like an overview of a chapter in a textbook. In other words it's textbook material but doesn't go in to that much detail.
