I can't seem to break 20 on the Crack DAT PAT.

So far my test scores have been:

Test 1:17
Test 2: 18
Test 3: 18
Test 4: 17

I typically get 14 or 15 keyholes and all the cube counting, and anywhere from 10 or more pattern folding.

However, my angle ranking and hole punching scores are awful, anywhere from 4-7 right for each of those sections.

PAT is tough, just wanted to vent 😛,

Hole punching u can easily get your score up, do u have the royak flush version? try those for a hour, and you'll be a pro. For the angles, its just practice i guess, I since I do deceent on those, I suck at TFE and keyhole, any advice u can give?

I've been doing well on CrackPAT. Hole punching is tough on Crack, but you get used to it. For angles, I use the elimination of answers by smallest/largest technique, but its still tough, so just keep practicing. For TFE look for "events". If something is clearly sticking up, or jutting out......look for the proper projection in the answers. Hope that helps.

for angles - arrange in the increasing order in your mind by yourself w/o looking at the answer choices. Once you have your sequence, then look at the answer choices and pick your letter. If you look at answer choices first, it really confuses you and you tend to switch answers....well atleast for me, it happens a lot.

On TFE I always try to look for the obvious things that stand out, like a projection not in line with the rest of the object, or how deep an indent goes into the object.

I feel you man ive taken the first 6 crack the pat tests and Ive gotten an 18 on every single one. that must be some kind of record, it seems like everytime i do well on one section i do poorly on another.

I do not remember the thread, amybe you could search it, but another member was providing awsome hints to alot to the PAT stuff.

We all get frustrated. It happens. When it does I walk away for abotut 30 mins or so and regroup my thoughts then start over.

What I would do for hole-punching is first study from left to right the actual fold of the paper. Its important to understand the folds first, before looking at answer choices. There will be lines of symmetry that must be kept. Then look going from right to left as you unfold where the holes will be.......eliminate answer choices along the way from each fold, and you should have it. Practice helps too. Hope that helps.

How about folding? i hate that section. I get 8 or less. can't improve it..and cube counting are freaking hard on Crack pat.
oh maaaaaaan

For those who are good at hole punching, are you able to do it in your head without drawing anything out?

I find that I can do simple ones in my head, but when there are multiple folds with many different lines of symmetry, it's easy to make a mistake, I find.

Anyone have any advice on this?

Anyone know how Crack PAT compares overall and section by section to the actual DAT?

I have always heard the angles on the real thing are a lot tighter..

I took three crack dat pat tests...

1 = 22
2= 21
3= 23

Real DAT= 20

TFE, angles, and pattern folding are SLIGHTLY harder on the real thing, hole punching and cube counting are SLIGHTLY easier.

Your real DAT score should be your crack score + or - 2 I'd say...

In the beginning I had the same problem i was just barely pulling down a 17 on Crack, but after alot of practice it just started clicking and TFE and Pattern Development just started making sense. My scores on Crack were something like
17
17
18
19
23
24
23
Real Dat-24
