The hole punch is harder than the actual DAT. However, it is really good practice and the folks that created the program seems to want to really drill you hard it. The hole punch on there usually has 4-5 folds with multiple holes. On the other hand, the DAT is much easier.

How about other sections?
I sucked at Crack DAT.. the more I practise, the lower I get :scared:

thanks for the info. I'm glad that the hole punch on crack pat is much more difficult. there pretty tough on that section.

Anyone know about the cube counting section vs the real dat. I notice some figures had an illusion.

you can say that again! its soooo hard to keep each hole in your mind as you go to the next

The cube is about par with the real thing. The "bad" thing about Crack PAT cube counting is that it is very repetitive in that the patterns are all about the same, i.e. usually a 4 x 4 block. The DAT will have more variation but the overall principle of counting visible and indirect blocks will be the same. Overall still excellent practice.

what about pattern folding, keyhole, top front end on the crackpat?

i get around 21 on crackpat, do you think ill be ready for the real thing?? lol

You are responding to a thread from 2008 when the exam was quite different and easier back then.

boohoo, i just took the DAT Friday. On Kaplan's practice PAT I would consistently get 25's. On Crack PAT I would get 21-24. On the real PAT i got a 22.

I would say the Crack is pretty accurate overall, but the hole-punching on crack is much harder than the real thing. The angles though!!! In every practice PAT I ever took I never missed more than 1 angle ranking... but I'm pretty sure every problem I missed on the real thing was probably an angle rank! I got to angles and just started laughing because every problem seemed within 1 degree.
Bottom line: if you can do crack pat, your score should be similar to what you're getting on there.
God speed!
