Crampy abdominal pain?

Hey,

What is meant by "crampy abdominal pain"? A cramp is a sudden and involuntary contraction of voluntary muscle with prolonged contraction and pain (the latter two in contrast to spasm). Could this simply mean a cramp in the abdomen or is something else meant here? This is in the context of colonic ischemia.
