Does anyone know if schools check your credit rating?

I'm asking because I've seen posts in the pre-allo page talking about how bad their credit is, and a nurse told me that an outstanding balance would come to haunt me in my application process.

I don't see why schools would care at all about your credit rating. It doesn't affect them at all.

What it might affect are your lending possibilities. It'll be more difficult to get loans if you poor credit.

But for the application process it shouldn't come into play at all.

Yes! At least oned does, anyway. I spoke with Dr. Craig Yarborough at U of P, and he said they have denied accepted students because they were not approved for their student loans. Bad credit could mean no school. Get rid of that credit card debt.

Stafford *government loans* do not depend on past credit history. Private loans do.
