credit hours ##.#??

I'm doing my application right now, and I'm not sure how to write the course credit hours like ##.#. For 3 credit hour course... is it 03.0?? or 00.3??

3.0, the extra space is to indicate partial credit hours, like say a lab that is 1.5 credits/units.
