Seriously? I thought they will take down all applicants to are interested in the alternative list and from there they will choose 30 applicants....the waiting list can't be full already...the deadline to reply hasn't arrived yet! Weird....

I htought it might be an interview letter when tehy started with... we have decided you are a fully qualified applicant.

THen the "but" came... gahh...
what a tease, especially at the wrong time!

They would put me on a waiting list... but they said since class of 2009 and alternatwe list is filled by Feb, 16th. I'm just saying what was in that letter, don't know if it's truwe or not.

That sucks. I'm really confused and almost feeling a bit hopeless. Your email stating that the class and waiting list is full by Feb 16th and my email sent to me which was dating on the 17th of Feb stating that if I'm still interested in being "considered" just doesn't match up. I have a feeling that Creighton is just being nice and not wanting to hurt people's feelings...

I don't think dental school's put people on an alternate list because they don't want to 'hurt their feelings'. That's stupid. My feeling is that they do it to have a back-up plan in case people drop at the last minute. That being said, I am not feeling too optimistic about getting a call back, but I believe the decision to put people on the alternate list is justifiable.

My email states that they will figure out how many are interested then compile 30 applicants to form a wait list... we will not know until mid-may?

There has been no movement since the email to see who is still interested in a wait list spot. In about a month or so, they will make the 30 applicant unranked wait list...

This morning I got an email stating that they have reviewed the applications of several hundred individuals who responded to the alternate email sent out, and that I have been selected to be a Final Alternate. Anyone else receive this email? Does anybody have a clue how much movement this list usually gets?
