Just got an interview via email from Creighton...is it really work spending the money to fly to Omaha for the interview. When I applied to the school I didnt take my DAT yet and didnt realize how I was going to do.

Stats: AA 21/ TS 23/ PAT 21
cGPA: 3.72
sGPA: 3.82

Should i wait until Case maybe sends me a rejection/interview before heading to creighton??? Pretty much the question im trying to ask is, do you think i can get into a better school?? not saying creighton is bad...

yea man, I would wait. That's still $$$$. I think your stats are definitely good enough to get bunch of offers this cycle.

Wait for Case since they are moving fast right now.

Still, congrats man. 😀

Congrats man. I think with those stats and EC that you posted on the predents.com you should be noted by many schools, just wait ...........

Why apply if you didn't plan on following up? If money is tight that is one thing, but why burn a bridge that doesn't need to be burned. If anything it will be a good warmup interview for other dental schools.

i also have an interview at Creighton. Luckily it is in driving distance for me.
I think you should go to the interview... Personally, I am flying to 3 of my 4 interviews. It is getting very expensive but I don't want to risk not getting in somewhere and therefore regret not going to an interview!
Good luck!

Like I said, i applied before I took my DAT...I also thought it would be a good practice interview and thats exactly what I planned to do...but is it really worth the flight from Cali...alot of money for flight + hotel when I could maybe wait and see my options for other schools

i don't mean to be rude, Badger. but how do you have so many interviews already? do you have something else that really stands out on your app cuz it looks like your gpa is solid and your DAT is almost solid? thanks.

sorry osims, dont mean to hijack your thread

Good Question

aren't interviews optional at creighton anyway? i think you can still get accepted there without interviewing.

I thought the interviews were optional too...

For the OP- my take on it is: if you're not passionate about/for Creighton, it'll be tough to convey that you do want to truely attend. Sit on it for while. How long of a notive are you given to respond to the invite?

Not related to the topic but... osimsDDS' avatar is the best one I've ever seen on these boards!

I'll admit though, that I am a bit biased. 😀

Congrats man! I have not heard about that school. You have pretty good scores. I would wait a lil bit.

Damn I wonder how many people got interviews at Creighton already.

hello all, i also received an invite to creighton as well for an interview. my question is what do you all mean by "just wait"? wait to schedule an interview or what? i also do not want to really go out there as well truthfully, but is there a way around it. In other words, hold off until i finish interview elsewhere to schedule an interview at creighton?

i think you'll get into better schools but perhaps you'll want to go to the interview just for fun. wear something outrageous, give all the adcoms a dap, and whenever you answer their questions, always end with relating it to kyle korver.

I'd say go because there's no garruntee you'll get in anywhere...you may have good scores but not the personality...do you really want to risk it? D-school gets more competitive each year, remember that.

Nah hes got the personality, hes well likes over here and i think he is fine everywhere else also. I wouldn't bother wih creighton, you should get a bunch of interviews, so just hope that you get accepted without an interview. I doubt you really wanna go there anyways.

Creighton is actually a very good school. They are probably the only d-school that has NO graduate specialties, which means that you will get more experience with more procedures in the clinic.

I interviewed at Creighton and it was a great experience. I think you'd be foolish to pass it up, IMO. But don't be fooled into thinking it is a subpar dental school just because it is in Nebraska.

Just so you guys know. Only creighton undergrad students can get into creighton dental w/o an interview. So the rest of you thinking that you might get in w/o an interview, good luck with that.

My friend from BYU got in last year without an interview. Guess he was an exception. I wonder how many more exceptions are out there?
