Any input would help. I am definitely leaning towards creighton but I’ve heard research can be less solid. I’m interested in radiology and competitive specialties as well. I’ve heard that Hackensack is doing relatively well as a newer school but it is still less established than Creighton. Both would be pretty expensive for me.

I would prefer to eventually match into the Midwest, which creighton would likely help with. I am from the Midwest and don’t have any strong east coast ties.

Hey, I was accepted to both programs. Since you are from the Midwest, I am assuming you were accepted to the Omaha campus.

Creighton Omaha has good research opportunities and matches really well into the Midwest. In contrary, the majority of Hackensack students match into NJ/NY area --> I am not sure if this is due to regional bias from selecting students but my takeaways were that they are prioritizing applicants that will stick around in the area after medical school. Hackensack does seem to put in lots of effort to mentor and guide students who are interested in pursuing compeititve specialties. They also have some good research opportunities and flexible 4th year curriculum to further strengthen your application for match.

If matching into Midwest is your priority, I think Cregihton edges over Hackensack. If matching in competitive specialties is your priority, I think both schools will get you there.

Few other things to consider are: H/P/F preclinicals, AOA, Friday exams, recorded lectures, Macbook & Pathoma provided at M1 at Creighton vs. true P/F preclinicals, NBME exams, mandatory attendance, no M1 summer break, taking Step 1&2 at the same time in M3, no AOA (although they recently implemented Gold Humanism last year) at Hackensack.
