Hey yall
I’m blessed to have been accepted to two MDs this cycle but can’t seem to choose which one would be best
Very, Very cheap. Tuition is 15k for me and I may be able to get even more scholarship
The city is also much cheaper to live in and family lives there
Cons-
Albuquerque is in the middle of nowhere, and after living in the east coast for 4 years I am going to miss the large communities here
It’s a primary care heavy school, and I plan to aim for a somewhat competitive speciality like gen surg
2. Hackensack
Pros-
The 4th year to build my app may come in handy for what I want to do. They even have a bioengineering option which seems interesting
It is close to NYC
Cons-
It is extremely expensive, although I have not recieved any financial aid info yet and they do give out scholarships it will most definitely be more expensive
The school in general is much more of a hassle, with mandatory attendance and shorter breaks
Since I do want to go into a competitive speciality in the future, would it be better for me to go to Hackensack that matches well into ny competitive specialties, or do I still have a good chance doing so at UNM? I’m really stuck and can’t choose. Please let me know!
