Did you check their page on www.pharmcas.org? Also, if you look on the first page of the pre-pharmacy forum, there's an informative Creighton thread. 👍

PharmCAS lists the stats for Creighton in 2004:

Total PharmCAS completed applications received: 1215
Number accepted: 173-Campus, 60-Web
Estimated entering class size: 110-Campus, 55-Web

For 2005 they expect the following:
Total number of new entrants: 110-Campus, 55-Web

I don't know how many typically apply to other programs but 1215 sounds somewhat tough.

Is anyone applying to Creighton this year for admittance in 2005? I am thinking of applying (the tuition is scaring me away!)

I've decided to. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm applying to Creighton web-based program. Interview is tomorrow, wish me luck!!!!

I received this email today:

The pharmacy admission committee has completed an initial evaluation of your application. They would like to hold for your spring semester grades before they make a decision. Please forward your spring semester transcripts to our office upon completion of your coursework. The admission committee will review your file at that time. Thank you!

But their last interview is April 22, and classes aren't over by then. So any clue how this work? I'm not sure whether to consider this good or bad. I'm guessing somewhere in between. They didn't tell me to "come on down", but they didn't tell me to go away, either. Guess I better make sure to get all A's this term. 🙁

I'd call them right away and ask them. 🙂

Yeah, it wouldn't hurt to call them and straighten things out. I got accepted, but it is still "pending successful completion" of my public speaking prereq (which I won't finish until May)

Received this today:

The Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions in Omaha, Nebraska invites you to meet with our Director of Admission, Marie Bensman, and learn more about our programs in Pharmacy, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.

It is at a hotel type place in Tampa.

Would you all recommend that I prepare as if it were an interview, even though it is not?

I did call earlier today, and she said if my spring grades were exemplary, they would schedule an interview even though after the April 22 date.

I would definitely take every opportunity to impress them (professional dress, etc). It sounds as if you will be listening to a general presentation of some sort. I'd definitely go up afterwards and introduce yourself to the person or persons putting on the program in the hopes that they will take back a positive impression of you.

Definitely know everything you can about the program before the presentation. Don't ask general questions, but try to clarify any small details that may not have been previously available.

Good luck!

I applied last year and got rejected. They told me it was very competitive in 2004, they had guys with PHDs and masters applying to the program. The average gpa was about 3.7.

My gpa is not even close to 3.7. I am on hold for spring grades. I guess I will see, come May.
