I've been accepted to both Creighton and Jefferson and I wanted to see what you guys thought about these schools. Which would you choose and why.

Also, fyi: I'd like to end up in California when all is said and done, although I can't imagine either school has a leg up on the other in that department.

What are your thoughts?

go to jefferson...it's a bigger name in cali...jefferson is in penn, and creighton is in the cornfields

Penn sucks though.

👍👍👍 haha

to the OP: I really dont think that either one is goin to give you a leg up in residency placement in CA. Just do well in school and get good board scores. Look at price and other factors that interest you. Personally, I think Creighton is awesome (although pricy). Plus, for what it is worth, Creighton has an alumni network around the country which may help you find stuff in CA.

I would personally go for Jefferson because I like Philadelphia more. Such a petty answer should tell you that I think they have similar academic quality. Jefferson has more recently updated their facilities...

Also, the bigger alumni network at Jefferson insures your education (you can bet that so many alumni will keep funding the school well into the future). Not that Creighton is going anywhere...

/Would you like an apple, or an apple?

thanks for all the input. academically they seem like two schools that are pretty comparable, although their structure may be a little different. are there any jefferson people out there who think the large class size is a minus? how about jefferson's professors? from all the creighton students i have talked to they all make CU sound like it's paradise and the teachers are incredible.

I think Creighton would be easier to live in and you would have more face-time with professors (Jefferson has like, 300 right?). Not sure though, just assumptions.

Edit: haha didn't read ur post above me

I'm currently a student at Jefferson and class size really doesn't present any negatives besides the fact that you might not get to meet every single person in the class. A positive effect of the large class size is that there are a lot more extracurricular activities to do outside of class and it's easier to find people who have similar interests. The professors are good about getting back to people about questions and making time to meet up with people one on one if they have more in-depth questions. I don't know much about Creighton, but I'm having a great time at Jefferson. If you have any other questions about Jefferson, feel free to PM me.

just chiming in about the whole getting to CA for residency thing: we (being creighton) placed 16 out of 129 in CA (12.4%). not that that is SUPER impressive, but not bad for a little ol' midwest school
