I didn't apply to Creighton, but one of my hang ups with the school is that it does not offer any specialization programs. Do they have an agreement with U of nebraska for specializations???

I don't believe that Creighton has any contracts with the University of Nebraska as far as specializations. I do know that as an undergrad or a normal 4 year dental student at Creighton you will see a large load of more difficult cases in the clinic that are usually referred to the grad students at other dental schools. Treating these harder cases over time will definitely make you a very prepared general dentist when coming out of school and the extra knowledge that you gained will mean that you will be able to treat these difficult cases in your own practice and not have to refer them to other specialists.
FYI: If you are interested in specializing Creighton has great stats on placing their students in grad programs across the nation. They are not lagging behind in that category at all!

I just had an interview this past Monday with Dr. Ayers (director of admin) at Creighton. Everything that cochino posted is right on the money! The dental students see a FAR greater variety of cases than at other schools because there aren't any post-grad programs to pass the difficult or intruiging cases on to.

I thought Creighton didn't give interviews. How did you get one?

Call Diane in the admissions office and let her know that you would like an interview. It is an informal interview, and students will take you on a tour of the school. Only call if you are interested.

My interview on Monday was part of the Regional Dental Education Program that Creighton participates in.

Thanks for the info Gavin. I live in Michigan so, I think I'll wait until after December 1 and see what happens.
