To make a long story short, when I was 17 I was arrested for grand-theft (shoplifting). I was never actually convicted and just did some community service. I was assured by my lawyer that no one could see my records, but my med school did. They just asked me for a letter of explanation and then didn't really care once they saw the charges were dropped, but the man I spoke with told me if I don't get it expunged I could potentially have problems w/rotations not wanting to accept me and possibly not finishing my program. Needless to say, I went to my lawyer the next day and we are working on an expungement. But I am just wondering if anyone has ever had a problem w/something such as this because it still worries me that I might have problems with it one day (considering i've heard stories about records being expunged, yet people somehow still finding it on background checks). If someone has had a problem w/this, what happened?
